The Palestine Exploration Fund (PEF) was founded in 1865 by a group of distinguished academics and clergymenThe purpose of the PEF is to promote research into the archaeology and history, manners and customs and culture, topography, geology and natural sciences of the Levant the southern portion of which was conventionally named 'Palestine'.The Palestine Exploration Fund today is an active organisation which publishes a respected academic journal, the Palestine Exploration Quarterly. In addition, the PEF presents public lectures on a wide range of subjects and funds several research projects covering a range of subjects in the Levant by way of small annual grants.

central London house a fine reference
library for the
study of the area, as well as a varied collection of vintage
photographs,
archaeological
objects,
natural history
collections,
archives and
manuscripts. |
